Pet Deer Pillowcase Dress

One of our newest creations is the Balaboosta Baby pillowcase dress! It's the sweetest dress for little girls and the best part about it is that it grows with them -- from a dress into a tunic that can be worn with leggings or jeans! The top is gathered and ties with a fabric tie. Its versatile design means that it can be worn on its own or paired with a top underneath. Each dress is custom made and is available from newborn to size 8. Dresses can be ordered in any of our available fabrics (see the Nursing Covers and More post for our current fabric selection).

Thank you to all of you for visiting us at the MaMi Shoppes "Christmas in the Village of Solina" and the DCA's "Holiday Shopping Extravaganza" these last two weekends. Mommy Must-Haves: Nursing Covers and More!

I'm so excited to be able to offer nursing covers and other yummy baby goodies online. One of my sisters is a first-time mom and listed a number of "mommy must-have" items. The nursing cover topped her list!

Here is a picture of the nursing cover in action. It features a rigid neckline which arches away from the body, allowing mom to maintain eye contact with baby. The cover is made out of 100% cotton material, lighter than the wool or flannel blankets moms typically use as covers while nursing. The nursing cover also helps block out noises and commotion which often distracts older babies. It can also be used as a blanket or sun-shade while out of doors and will help protect baby from sun's UV rays.

Nursing Cover

Another mummy must-have is the diaper clutch, which is roomy enough to hold a wipe container and 2-4 diapers. No more rummaging through your diaper bag, trying to locate what you need in the deepest and darkest netherlands of your bag. Now what you need is right at your finger tips. Just grab and go!
The diaper clutch is made out of 100% cotton with a coordinating cotton fabric lining. It has a velcro closure. If you'd like your clutch made with interfacing, there's an additional charge of $2.50.Diaper Clutch

Little Loveys

We're now pleased to offer Little Loveys. Balaboosta Baby Little Loveys are the perfect accessory for little hands. One part toy, one part blanket, our Little Loveys provide baby with tactile stimulation while the soft fabrics comfort and soothe.

These special blankies are made out of one of our fun and funky flannels on one side with a coordinating minky on the reverse. Colourful ribbons adorn the edges of the blankie and are perfect for playing with or looping a toy or pacifier through.

This Little Lovey blankie measures approximately 15.5" X 17" with the ribbons and 10" X 11", not including ribbon length. The ribbons have been stitched in place 6 times each.

Little Loveys are $20 each.

Little Loveys can be made out of any of the flannels that you see on the site. We'd love to create a special lovey for your little one!

Another item that you are not going to want to do without is the trendy burp cloth, made from new 100% cotton cloth diapers (diaper service quality) and embellished with your choice of material. These could even coordinate with your nursing cover and diaper clutch! The burp cloths are super absorbent and are the perfect accessory to catch all of baby's drools and dribbles! Stylish yet practical - what more could you ask for?

These burp cloths have been washed and dried twice for shrinkage.

Change Pads: In All Shapes and Sizes

I'm very pleased to be able to offer an assortment of changing pads for your diapering pleasure! No baby is created equal; subsequently you can select which change pad suits the needs of your own little bundle of joy.

Our change pad is the perfect accessory for laying flat on any surface, especially on the change tables found in restaurants. It features a layer of warm and natural 100% cotton quilt batting in between 2 layers of cotton. This provides extra cushioning for baby during those necessary diaper duties!

Change Pad in Pink and Chocolate Damask

Each change pad is edged with the coordinating cotton material and finished with a straight-edge stitch to reinforce the seams.

Change pads can also be made with any of our cotton or flannel fabrics with a coordinating minky on the reverse. These would be made the same dimensions as the Diaper Diddy.

Cuddle blankets are made from super soft dimpled minky (chenille) on one side and a fun patterned flannel on the other side, bordered by luxurious ribbon running along the edge. Cuddle Cotton Minky blankets are another option that we offer, allowing you to choose from our selection of cotton fabrics coupled with a matching minky fabric. The outside of the blanket is 100 percent cotton while the inside lining is luxuriously soft minky. This is a perfect blanket for snuggling with, either in the carseat or getting ready for naptime. A Birth Story

Every child longs to hear the story of their birth, to hear the magical tale of how they came to be. Balaboosta Baby was a dream long before its inception. As parents often desire a child before the act of creation, so too have I dreamt of operating a home business that could be used as an outlet for my creativity. Balaboosta Baby allows me to couple my passions for birth, babies and breastfeeding with my love of sewing and the creative arts. I have to give credit to one of my sisters for introducing me to nursing covers and opening my eyes to a new venture. As a result, the seeds for Balaboosta Baby were planted.

As with all pregnancies, there is the gestational period, the time where your dreams begin to take shape. This is also the time where those in utero doubts and worries begin to plague you and feelings of anxiety make you question your future abilities to parent and guide your newest venture. Then comes one of the biggest decisions of all: what to name your baby. Balaboosta Baby’s namesake is my youngest daughter who is truly the original Balaboosta baby; always full of energy and living each moment to the fullest. While the literal translation of balaboosta is “perfect housewife", it denotes a take charge individual. I need to credit my mother with bestowing this title upon my little one.

First it was an idea, that was then conceptualized and began to take shape, and now is the moment of delivery. The planning, the waiting, the worrying, the sleepless nights of preparation all led to this moment of anticipation: the birth of Balaboosta Baby.
